Changing the bed sheets 'not a man's task'
Published: 09 June 2010
Men are often more reluctant to change the bedding than they other household chores.
The multi-tasking involved in changing bed linen means it is often a task reserved for the woman of the household, it has been claimed.Laura Kemp, in an article for the South Wales Echo, highlighted that contending with a duvet cover and trying to match up the corners is generally avoided by men.
"Wrestle everything off the bed, pull off the sheets, then the pillowcases and duvet cover. Phew, isn't it exhausting," she explained.
Females are also better at noticing when it is time to get out some clean bed linen than their male counterparts, Ms Kemp believes: "Women can sniff a sweaty pillow from the front door."
Men are instead much more partial to doing the vacuuming or heading out to the supermarket, the writer added.
High thread count bed linen was recently described by the former senior style editor of Martha Stewart Living Eddie Ross as one of the ultimate luxuries in life.
