Cool down in bed this summer
Published: 24 June 2010
People need to take measures to ensure they are cool enough when going to bed during the summer.
Keeping cool is essential when trying to sleep properly in the summer months, it has been revealed.Helium.com put forward a number of suggestions of how to achieve this, including a rather novel idea of putting bed linen in the freezer.
"Ensure that your sheets are completely dry before doing this; otherwise ice will form and melt during the night, which can make your sleep very uncomfortable," the website stated.
Another option is to create a cross-draft, it recommended, which can be achieved by placing two fans on either side of the bedroom, facing in opposite directions.
Keeping the windows open - providing it is safe to do so - is also a great way of making sure the bedroom is at a decent temperature to be able to sleep in comfortably, the website added.
New mums were recently advised to indulge in a cup of chamomile tea before heading off to bed, as it helps them wind down.
