Pillows help eradicate sleep-related pains
Published: 15 June 2010
Buying a new pillow is crucial for anyone who wakes up with aches and pains.
A new pillow would be a sound investment for anyone suffering from aches and pains when they get out of bed, Cornell University professor Dr James Maas has said.Speaking on behalf of United Feather & Down, he indicated that people often do not purchase a pillow that suits their sleeping style.
"To avoid aches and pains, try not to sleep on your stomach or with your head elevated. Instead, sleep on your side, which keeps the spine straight," he advised.
Dr Maas revealed that sleeping on a pillow that is not fit for purpose will only mean that back and neck problems get worse.
It was recently suggested by the David Hide Asthma and Allergy Research Centre that obtaining new bedding for children can help reduce asthma symptoms in youngsters.
By using mattresses immune to dust mites, children were found to have less severe symptoms than others with the same condition.
