Rooney invests in new pillow for World Cup
Published: 04 June 2010
A new pillow was the order of the day for Wayne Rooney as the England team jetted off to South Africa for the World Cup.
Wayne Rooney has made no secret of his problems sleeping, so perhaps his latest investment in a new pillow will prove just the thing. The 24-year-old was seen clutching a pillow as he boarded the team's plane bound for South Africa earlier this week.
He was not the only one with a new pillow, as team-mate Shaun Wright-Phillips also seemed intent on getting a decent amount of rest ahead of the World Cup later this month.
With any luck, this will help Rooney get a better night's sleep than he is used to, as the top player recently admitted to the Sun that he often finds it difficult to doze off.
In fact, he will go out of his way to find something that creates a droning sound to help him get some rest.
"If I'm staying in a hotel or I'm sleeping on my own I have the hairdryer on," he told the paper.
