Sleep planning helps long-haul flyers
Published: 16 June 2010
People going on long-haul flights need to schedule sleep into their itineraries, it has been suggested.
Getting some sleep on long-haul flights is essential for keeping the body clock in check, it has been revealed. In an article for lifehacker.com.au, it was suggested that flyers should keep their sleep patterns as close to normal as possible.
Anyone who is landing early in the morning, for example, needs to ensure they are asleep as close to the landing time as possible, it claimed.
Once off the plane, people should try to keep awake until it is time to go to bed in the country they are in.
Some people even take their own bed linen on planes to ensure they get some decent rest before landing at their destinations.
This follows advice issued by the author of the Good Sleep Guide Sammy Margo, who said people who have difficulty sleeping need to ask themselves why that is.
It may be down to medication or even diet, the expert added.
