Beauty bedding could be 'next step' in healthcare industry

In future years, bedding may have more of a role in a person's life than simply being comfortable in bed, a writer states, highlighting the "ultimate beauty sleep" that could be had by owners splashing the cash on cutting-edge bed linen.
The trend for celebrities to go to bed in a certain fashion to stay beautiful has been highlighted by a New York Times columnist, noting that the future of bedding could be more health-based in future.Terry Trucco wrote that Doris Day was known for sleeping in Vaseline and cling film, with rumours floating that Madonna uses a similar method to roll back the years.
Still, bed linen is purporting similar benefits for a number of problems.
Mr Trucco said: "Bedding comes buttressed with additives - and claims - more common to cosmetics than comforters, like seaweed mattress ticking that purports to rejuvenate skin and aloe vera pillow covers and blankets that promise to soothe skin and moisturise."
Despite this, he found that many sellers were more likely to spend money on marketing and not scientific research, meaning that they may not be as effective as believed.
Sara Shragal of DirectBuy said people ought to consider a lot when buying bed linen, such as thread count, fabric and the material's strength.
