Expert gives bed linen tips

Old bed linen, bath linen or an ageing duvet set could be put to good use and made into curtains, it has been claimed.
Home owners upgrading to luxury bed linen may want to hang on to their old covers, according to a source.Terri McGraw, writing for News 13, comments that there are plenty of uses for the discarded sheets.
She says old bed linen could be used as a cover for clothes that are out of season and will not be worn for several months, preventing a build up of dust and grime on the garments.
Ms McGraw adds that those with a flair for needlework could transform the covers into curtains, or carefully cut them up to create drapes, pillows or even lampshades.
She goes on to suggest that they could complement the new luxury bed linen or act as a colour blocker if they are placed beneath eye-catching blankets.
Recently, Laura Cohen, an interior design expert for yourfloors.co.uk, commented that duvet covers and curtains are a key part of a spring refurbishment.
