Bedding is a dream for many people but can be a nightmare for others. Autumn the cat falls into the latter category, being a victim of a bed's labyrinth-like layout, becoming trapped and nearly taking an early trip to moggy heaven.
Nobody could find Autumn the cat until a bed salesman heard her quiet meowing from her position, trapped between a mattress and box spring.The domestic short-hair escaped an undeserved death sentence when she became trapped, with the sales executive's sixth sense noticing something was amiss before he disposed of the bed.
Confusion hit owners Wayne and Ann Crews of Richmond, Virginia, after they bought a new bed from the lifesaving Wilbert Davis, allowing the worker to take away their now-unused old bedding before he found their cat after tearing the bed's thin lining mere seconds before throwing it away.
Mrs Crews said of her reunion with Autumn: "We hugged her and hugged her and gave her lots of treats."
Home decor has become more pet-focused in recent years, the Staten Island Advance stated, with pillows beds and even bed linen being made for cats and dogs across the world.
