People can make a bed 'with lots of personality'
Published: 25 March 2009
Giving a bed some personality is easier done than many people may think, with the correct choice of colours for bed linen going a long way when creating a new look in the boudoir.
It's not a question of simply making a bed if people are going to have a great-looking personal space - they have to dress it, according to an interior designer.Alicia Warden of the Seattle Times said that bedding can be energised through a few basic strategies, including the use of small amounts of colour to bring about contrast.
She noted that by striking a good balance through extra pillows, patterned duvet covers and a spare blanket, a bedroom can look like a completely different place.
Ms Warden recommended: "Drape a coordinating throw over the bed's foot for a final flourish."
She also emphasised: "A bed skirt isn't just for looks - it's a perfect solution for keeping underbed storage out of sight. Plastic bins will easily slide under the bed."
According to Channel 4, people ought to look for bed linen of a 150 thread count or more, with natural fabrics allowing the skin to breathe.
