Want vintage bedroom furniture? Make it!

Those put off by the thought of the price companies are willing to charge for vintage furniture for the bedroom, a home designer has suggested people make their own, with their creations matching any new bed linen or duvet covers brought into the home.
Many people in these times of economic strife may not have the time for antique furniture, with one writer recommending that people skip the middleman and make some themselves.Tara Miller of the Atlanta Arts and Crafts Examiner said that with many people having to live on a tight budget, it's much better to just head down to a second-hand shop and pick up something yourself - so long as you're going to be creative with it.
She spoke of how, after visiting the likes of thrift stores and flea markets, she found a perfect set of drawers which only needed a lick of gold and white paint to bring out its true quality, with many people perhaps customising theirs to match bed linen, curtains or duvet covers in their bedroom.
About.com states that a great investment for the bedroom is an armoire, which can contain drawers, shelves, doors and clothing rails, making it an all-in-one bargain - especially if you manage to find one using Ms Miller's methods.
