Bedding down is 'no problem' for Wogan
Published: 12 March 2010
After years on a restrictive seat at the helm of the Radio 2 Breakfast Show, Terry Wogan has finally turned to his bedding in later life, living out his partial retirement from radio under his duvet cover.
Former Radio 2 Breakfast Show host Sir Terry Wogan has admitted to living like a student, informing another radio broadcaster of his time spent in bed every morning, catching up on years of sleep-ins.Irish star Sir Terry called the Absolute Radio's Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show for the Who's Calling Christian? competition, where celebrities vie for £20,000 in order to secure it for a charity of their choice - with the Children in Need host possibly doing it from underneath his duvet cover.
"At the moment we sit there in bed and watch sport - it's terrific because we can be there till one in the afternoon," Sir Terry said of his bedding habits. "Well, I never was a student so I'm making the most of it now - a little too late."
Togs - or Terry's Old Geezers and Gals - have been recently advised by Wogan to give Chris Evans more time to settle into his job, following criticisms levelled at the younger replacement after his mentor's departure.
