Bedding is 'front line tool' for cold Brits in winter
Published: 04 March 2010
Bedding became a major focus of attention during the cold snap of winter, with a new survey discovering how duvet covers and other items became instrumental in staving off the weather.
British people have used their heads and their beds to escape the extreme cold of last winter, according to a new survey released earlier in the week.Extra bedding was the top priority that Gocompare.com identified as something which Brits "armed" themselves with during the freezing spells, alongside hot water bottles, added clothing and bed socks.
Gocompare.com's Mark Greening, the firm's head of utilities said that since December, heating bills have been a major challenge for even affluent people, as prices rose due to the recession, meaning bedding such as duvet covers became more commonly used instead.
Crampex recently recommended that as a way of celebrating National Bed Month, people invest in the biggest and best bed money can buy, as well as good quality bed linen, as a person spends around 25 years of their life in it getting much-needed rest.
