Egyptian bed linen 'could complement bamboo beds'
Published: 24 March 2010
Bamboo is increasingly being used in furniture
A growing number of families are trying to pair up their Egyptian bed linen with environmentally-friendly furniture, an expert has claimed.Sasha Stricker, president and creative director of decorateITonline, recently highlighted the growing popularity of bamboo bedroom furnishings.
She said that the furniture produced through this material is more replaceable than those made of comparable hard or softwoods such as oak, pine or ash.
Bamboo reaches maturity in five years or less, compared to these types of woods, which can sometimes take up to 30 or 40 years to grow.
Ms Stricker said: "In addition to the environmental benefits we were also very impressed with the amazing quality of the entire line. The joinery, detailing, and finishing on each of the pieces is impeccable."
Those who have approached this problem the other way round and are now looking for something to pair with a bamboo bed could consider investing in organic cotton.
Robin Wilson, green alternatives expert, recently told Epoch Times that bed linen in this material can deliver great benefits for those with allergies.
