Good mattress, bedding and feng shui can 'oppose insomnia'
Published: 19 March 2010
Many individuals find it hard to sleep at night, yet it may be the expert use of bed linen, mattresses and other bedding that will help people get the best rest possible, it has been asserted.
Using particular colour schemes, a good bed and a knowledge of the ancient art of feng shui, people will have no difficulty in getting themselves off to sleep on an evening, it has been underlined. In a study for Express Buzz, SBS Surendran asserted that the use of bedding was central to a strong attempt to get rid of any sleep difficulties.
He explained: "Feng shui studies show that changing the wall colours to pastel shades, using comfortable bed sheets, pillows and mattresses as well as by ensuring that you don't have any other disturbances in the bedroom like television, you could transform the energy of the space."
Mr Surendran pointed to how colours under feng shui principles have helped other institutions, such as the NHS, which uses green as a means of making patients comfortable in hospitals, while pink is used in US prisons to nullify as much violence as possible.
At the start of March, Aaron Stewart, a bed linen expert in conversation with GlamNest, said three things need to be at the top of people's minds when buying duvet covers and other assets for the bed: nice patterns, affordability and the feel of the fabric.
