Spring cleaners 'must address bedding properly'
Published: 10 March 2010
People doing a bit of a spring clean in the coming months ought to ensure that bedding and duvet covers are top of the list of priorities during the festivities, it is believed.
If you are carrying out a bout of spring cleaning this month, make sure bedding comes somewhere near the top of the list, one expert has said.Interior design guru at the Vancouver Sun Michelle Hopkins spoke to Meg Roberts, a Vancouver franchisee specialising in maid services, who said that one of the most efficient ways to clean a bedroom is from top to bottom and left to right.
Moving furniture and vacuuming in each room is the first thing people need to do, though she said that springtime is also a great time to wash mattress and duvet covers in the bedrooms, hanging them outside for a fresh scent.
Ms Roberts added: "If it's raining, throw your duvet cover in the drier with two clean tennis balls. They act like softening sheets and keep things moving around, so you avoid clumps on your linen."
Ideal Home magazine recently said that new bed linen is needed for a spring style revival in the bedroom, particularly feminine floral patterns.
