White is 'perfect for bedroom decor'

Decorating your bedroom? White could be the perfect colour to use as it is able to bring together other elements and colours from around the room, meaning it may be perfect for bed linen.
When approaching the decoration of a bedroom, it may be best practice to target the bed for the use of white, as it can draw together numerous other elements, an expert believes.The Associated Press' Melissa Rayworth spoke to decordemon.com's Brian Patrick Flynn, who said that white is a colour that designers use to modernise the feel of a room and can regularly boost ageing bedroom furniture or wooden floors that are worse for wear.
By using the likes of the traditionally-white Egyptian cotton bed linen, people may be able to harness all of these elements, it was explained.
Host of HGTV shows Destination Design and $100 Half Day Design Taniya Nayak also explained that picture frames and mirrors done in white will also give a fresh and modern look to a room.
"Just like bringing in a marriage counsellor, white will work as a mediator between soft and loud colours. You can use it to work as a bridge between two colours," Ms Nayak added.
The impact of good lighting should always be considered in a house redesign, according to Montreal Gazette's Shauna Hardy, even if it's just a new lampshade.
