Britons 'must go to bed' to lose weight
Published: 13 May 2009
Many Brits are hung up about their weight issues, yet to lose the fat they may as well invest their money in nice bed linen such as Egyptian cotton instead of buying more food. This is because a lack of sleep makes people eat more, one expert states.
There are millions of Britons in the UK who are not happy with their weight, though one expert said that a lack of sleep is overlooked by many as a possible weight gain aggravator.Dr Neil Stanley, a boffin for Horlicks who specialises in this area, told the Daily Mail that a lack of sleep causes hunger hormones to malfunction, forcing people to crave foods high in calories, carbohydrates and sugar.
He explained that while many people may be putting their money into the fridge, they may as well spend it on comforters and high-quality bed linen as they should look to the bed as the best way of averting a hungry stomach.
Dispensing more advice with Horlicks, Mr Stanley recommended that people avoid caffeine after midday and avoid smoking, eating and drinking three hours before bedtime.
