Girl's bedroom can 'easily get' princess treatment
Published: 18 May 2009
Turning a young girl's bedroom into a palace suite fit for a princess is easily done, states one expert, who used pink layered bed linen as part of a plan to make a seven-year-old's room perfect to grow older in.
A girl has had her dreams realised, with one professional decorator turning her bedroom from a boring space filled with hand-me-downs to an area fit for a princess.Candice Olson, an established interior designer working for American channel HGTV, stated that through using bedding to dress the bed, the focal point was restored and the bed linen was great at topping off the overall design of the bedroom, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
She continued: "To make it truly princess-perfect, we installed crown molding to support a valance and panels of the rich fuchsia fabric that flank the head of Charlotte's bed."
By investing in a relatively cheap chandelier, burgundy drapes and plenty of pink pillows, the look was complete, Ms Olson added.
Bed linen has been all over the news this week, with a number of MPs including their purchase of bedding in the seemingly never-ending list of expenses revealed by the Daily Telegraph this month.
