Hotels across the world are still prioritising the importance of putting top-quality bedding on their beds, with a number of major chains sticking to an investment in only the highest-quality bed linen, such as that provided by Egyptian cotton.

Good bedding 'still top priority' in tough times for hotels While many parts of the tourism industry are cutting budgets in order to lower prices and match consumer demands for cheaper offers, some things have not been subject to cutbacks, it is said.

Top brands in the hospitality sector are focusing strategic investments on benefiting the customer experience, with beds being one of the most important elements of this, according to Eden Textiles.

The company's president Mike Wilson explained: "Despite the economic concerns, we are finding properties and hotel chains are uncompromising when it comes to their investment in the area of beds and bedding."

Many may be looking to extend their line of organic bed linen, while others may look to Egyptian cotton as a way to ramp up the luxury of their accommodation.

The popularity of Egyptian cotton is increasing, according to the Times of India last week, which stated that the fabric is now particularly popular as a t-shirt textile and a means of keeping cool on hot days.
