'Remember bedroom space' when buying furniture
Published: 06 November 2008
Although bedding, comforters and pillows are central to a room's design, people must consider the amount of space they have to play with when they invest in furniture for the bedroom, an expert has said.
People should consider how much space their bedroom has before putting a lot of money into new furniture, according to a designer from Los Angeles.Eddie Jacobian said that people should prioritise roominess over style and budget.
Speaking about a traditionally well-equipped bedroom, he said alongside necessary bedding and duvet covers, one required a bed, at least one nightstand, a mirror and if necessary an armoire, though people should not buy things for the sake of it.
"It is not a good idea to fill your room with furniture so much that at the end you end up trying to find the space to walk around them," he emphasised.
Benjamin Weissman, an interior designer also giving tips on bedroom space, said parents could create an effective room-saving solution for their children by investing in a bunk bed.
