Bedding, duvet covers and bedspreads must be bought in the correct colours to give a strong base to a bedroom, it has been stated, with the room itself providing the decorator with all manner of possibilities.

However, the atmosphere was central to the mood of the room and the designer recommended the purchase of bedding or duvet covers "in shades, tints and values that please you".
She continued: "But remember, you also want to sleep in this room. Unless red is a calming colour for you, I would strongly suggest avoiding a lot of it in the boudoir."
HGTV.com, a decorating specialist, recently emphasised the benefits of keeping bedroom decoration simple as giving the room plenty of visual impact for a low price.
