Better sleep means better golf?

Sufferers of sleep apnoea could be sabotaging their handicap in golf, according to a new report which assesses the importance of bedding down with comfort.
Golf enthusiasts who struggle to get on top of their game may have difficulties with their sleep, if a new study is to be believed.Sleep apnoea, a condition known for collapsing the airway when a person is snuggled up underneath their bed linen each night, could be the defining factor in lower attentiveness and the ability to sink the ball at crucial times, according to Dr Marc L Benton of Atlantic Sleep and Pulmonary Associates.
"More so than many sports, golf has a strong intellectual component, with on-course strategising, focus and endurance being integral components in achieving good play," said the expert working from Madison, New Jersey.
People who are still tired well after everyone else in the morning despite a long sleep may want to speak to their doctor about the possibility of the condition, which is more likely to affect people who are overweight.
