Moby's insomnia is 'rarely treated with pills'
Published: 20 November 2009
Superstar DJ Moby struggles to get any comfort from his bed linen, though he refuses to resort to sleeping pills as a way of getting over his problem, he has emphasised.
A popular DJ cannot sleep, regardless of how comfortable his bedding is, though he refuses to touch sleeping drugs when he can, given their effects on others.Moby, the man behind Porcelain and We Are All Made of Stars, has to travel regularly between Europe and the US, causing him to struggle with insomnia and pushing him to the brink of hallucination.
His lack of relaxation has caused him to see rats infesting the floor of his apartment, though it is only really instances like this that have pushed him to consider tablets as a means of getting the most out of his bedding.
Moby explained: "I do occasionally [take sleeping pills] but there's this long history of travelling musicians and public figures getting addicted to prescription drugs, so I think I've seen too many horror stories and try hard to stay away from pharmaceuticals."
Kate Evans, a young inventor from the UK, may have come up with a way of curing this issue; she has revealed her innovation this week - the LightSleeper - which projects a blue light onto a user's ceiling to help them fall asleep.
