Memory foam mattresses given blessing
Published: 01 October 2008
Memory foam has been heralded as a great option for those wanting to get the most out of their mattresses, with the commentator noting that sometimes even nice bed linen or Egyptian cotton does not give the full-on perfect sleeping experience.
One is not spoiled for choice when buying a mattress, but it can complicate things, a reporter has said. Although noting coil systems and depth or thickness of layered materials as important factors in mattresses, Gail Park said that the comfort provided by a bed was definitely the most significant issue for the user.
In an interview with the manager of American chain BedMart, Tim Dolan, for the Lake Oswego Review, it was said that heat-sensitive mattresses made from memory foam offered a lot for the user - perhaps more if combined with Egyptian cotton or other quality bed linen.
Mr Dolan said: "It becomes firm where the body needs it and soft to cradle and cushion the body.
"It envelops the sleeper and takes away the pressure points and reduces the body's need to toss and turn."
Online resource Extra Comfort said that memory foam could alleviate headaches.
