Reporter leads fight against bedding's enemy

Tips have been offered by an American reporter to help people fight bedbugs, the bedding fan's natural enemy, so that people can enjoy their duvet covers and bedspreads without discomfort.
An American writer has given advice to those hoping to kick bedbugs out of bed, ridding the bedding they love of anything that could spoil their sleep.Using an integrated pest management system to address the problem, Lynn Little of the Herald-Mail said that prevention was better than the cure, with inspection of clothing important as bedbugs were hitchhikers as they could not fly.
Ms Little continued: "Sanitation measures include frequently vacuuming your mattresses and premises, laundering bedding and clothing in hot water, and cleaning and sanitising your home."
Furthermore, the use of steam and hot water was effective in the campaign against the parasites.
She added that by "preventing entry and controlling their sources of food, water and places to hide", the homeowner could rest even more comfortably.
Harvard University stated that hatchling bed bugs were oval-shaped and about the size of a poppy seed, a quarter of an inch in length and flat from top to bottom.
