Women sleep better, 'despite personal beliefs'

Men might be used to hypochondria in the bedroom from women complaining of a headache or similar, but it turns out that a lot of them seem to be misdiagnosing their sleep patterns too, according to one study.
It may not be true at all when women say they are getting less sleep than men in the bedroom, even if they're using the most comfortable bedding going to soothe themselves off to sleep. That's because the Erasmus Medical Centre in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has discovered that it may be true that women need much more sleep than men, yet ladies tend to complain they aren't getting the rest they need; then again, they seem to be sleeping more than man..
Reporting their findings in Sleep, the study mulled over results from 956 people between the ages of 59 and 79, with women estimating they had 13.2 minutes of sleep less than their male counterparts, yet still got 16 more minutes of rest in bed.
Whether their choice of bed linen was anything to do with it or not, their sleep was also of a higher quality and not as fragmented as that experienced by blokes.
Pete Wentz, the bassist from Fall Out Boy, certainly knows a thing or two about that - after all, he even considered starting an insomniac's club, according to his recent posts on Twitter.
