Matching duvet sets, bed linen and comforters with the colour of walls can leave a room's bedding looking good all year round, says an expert.

Choose "good solid colours" for bedding Sleepers seeking to match their bed linen with their decoration should choose a "good, solid colour", an expert argues.

Home improvement enthusiast Joan Friedman makes her comments to the Reading Eagle, in response to a reader questioning what pattern comforter and bed linen would be best throughout the year.

The reader explained they did not want to have to change it frequently.

Ms Friedman recommends choosing all matching bed linen so that in the summer months, snoozers can simply remove the comforter and leave their duvet set.

"You might choose some deeper colour shams or pillows in the winter months; for the summer months, change them to floral or colourful designs," she urges.

Recently, a bedding commentator from Terry's Fabrics recommended sleepers pick blue bed linen as this is a relaxing and tranquil shade for duvet sets.
