Down and feather bedding 'fights energy costs'

The American Down and Feather Council has highlighted the benefits of the two bedding fabrics in the face of rising fuel costs and colder temperatures, adding that comforters that use the material saves money and resources.
An American organisation has stated the benefits of down and feathers in the next few months as a flexible and natural way to keep eco-friendly and warm during the winter months. The American Down and Feather Council (ADFC) said that the insulating properties of bedding and comforters using down and feathers saved energy "through simple conservation", with added warmth from the material possibly resulting in "enormous" savings through heating bills.
A statement by the ADFC said: "As a natural by-product of duck and goose farming, down is completely renewable and biodegradable, unlike synthetic bedding fills, which are usually petroleum based."
