Hotel decor turns bedroom into 'chic getaway'

An American newspaper has highlighted the luxury look of hotel furnishings in the bedroom, noting bedding, duvet sets and bed linen in particular as determining factors in the overall look.
A recent report for a Floridian newspaper has stated that the hotel look is perfect for those wanting to give their bedroom some extra glamour.In a report for the Miami Herald, tips offered included "decluttering" the room and using soothing wall colours, with bed linen and duvet sets being emphasised as necessary to pull off the luxury look as the bed must be the "focal point" of the room.
Lands' End spokeswoman Michele Casper said that when speaking practically, top-quality bed linen can help a person get a better night's sleep because good bedding, such as Egyptian cotton, is softer and more comfortable.
She added: "But we also are seeing the bedroom as a place to splurge, and what better way than in a set of sheets that envelop you all night long?"
Agence France-Presse recently reported on a hotel in Bad Kissengen, Germany, which did away with bedding completely, with guests sleeping in fields with straw for beds and only small awnings to keep away the elements.
