Pyjama pants 'are back'
Published: 04 September 2008
An Australian fashion reporter has told - perhaps warned - men that the pyjama pant is back, with the natural accompaniment to bedding complimenting a street-wise ensemble as well as duvet covers or bedspreads.
A reporter for newspaper the Australian has highlighted the newest re-entry to the fashion world - the humble pair of pyjama pants.Stephen Todd, reporting from Paris at a recent fashion event, told readers not to "shoot the messenger" as he relayed the news that the natural accompaniment to bed linen - pyjamas - were back.
"In fact, so back that the spring-summer Paris catwalks looked like a slumber party circa 1978, all swathed satin, languorous Indian linen and crumpled, drawstring cotton," he added.
He also noted that such designers as Lucas Ossendrijver and Louis Vuitton had embraced the look, which is more at home tucked up underneath bedding and comforters than it is in front of dozens of cameras.
In related news, the Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - a film about a friendship between the son of a Nazi Commandant and a Jewish boy in a concentration camp - is released next week.
