Want comfort? Go llama
Published: 17 September 2008
A writer has sung the praises of comforters paired with bed linen this winter, noting that a great alternative to the usual choice of down as a stuffing could be llama or alpaca wool, noted for its soft and warm features that complement bedding.
An online home budgeting website has said that comforters are essential in the bedroom during the colder months, which are soon to arrive. However, many may not want to buy one made from duck or goose down due to allergic reactions - which is why the llama could be their friend during the approaching winter.
Alpaca and llama wool comforters were recommended for their natural properties and hypoallergenic qualities.
The website added: "You will still be able to have the warmth and feel of a down comforter without all of the problems or the odour associated with certain natural products."
Roseland Llama Farm states that llamas are easy to look after, good with children and fine company for other livestock such as horses due to their unaggressive nature.
