Bedding 'best approached with empty stomach'
Published: 07 September 2009
People wanting to lose weight through a healthy regime should make sure they don't eat too much before hitting their bedding, according to new research.
Avoiding snacks galore before heading to the bedding is a wise and healthy choice for those wanting to lose weight, according to a new study.Researchers from Chicago's Northwestern University concluded as such following a number of studies into how people can best keep themselves slim.
Experts fed nocturnal mice during the day instead of at night and found they were putting on more weight than their more regularly-fed rodent counterparts.
The mice which ate at the right times were found to increase their weight by 20 per cent, though later eaters before sleeping had an average weight gain of 48 per cent.
This is all due to metabolism, which could be pushed back by the body's internal clock by a late intake, thus not kicking in very quickly on the next morning.
Losing weight therapies have been found to have other bonus effects, with research led by Dr Henry Buchwald of the University of Minnesota finding that stomach stapling is able to completely eradicate symptoms of type 2 diabetes.
