Different people 'need different sleep'

Just as bedding choices will be different for many, so is the requirement for sleep, with one leading expert in health highlighting how different bodies need different levels of rest when under the bed linen each night.
Rules set down for sleep by experts are merely guidance; only the individual knows what they need each night, according to an expert.Britain's leading sleep mogul Dr Neil Stanley told the Times that while he himself needs nine hours of sleep a night, people do not need to follow his example.
Stating how there are no rules to getting rest, he stressed that anything between three and 11 hours is normal depending on the person.
Reading is a good way to ensure there is no real impediment to getting kip as well, Dr Stanley said, as flopping around underneath bed linen - even comfortable stuff like Egyptian cotton - won't do anything for anyone as the brain needs to shut down.
Dr Stanley recently made headlines by emphasising how sharing a bed is "unhealthy", noting that sleeping in separate beds is the best way to live, though romance can be maintained either way.
