Buying children's beds 'no easy task'
Published: 17 September 2010
Many parents find buying their child's first bed a difficult experience.
Taking children out bed shopping is an arduous task, as one parent recently found out.In an article for Wales Online, Rachel Mainwaring explained how the time had finally come to get her three-year-old son out of his cot and into something different.
However, a trip around a bed shop proved rather eventful as the youngster and his five-year-old sister got distracted by all the mattresses and over-the-top children's beds.
"The inventive pair had managed to build a self-made trampoline with a selection of mattresses," she explained to the website, expressing her embarrassment.
Ms Mainwaring said that her son is "not quite as bothered about his new bed as his sister", but is more interested in having cartoon bedding adorned with pictures of diggers or images from Toy Story.
An article for spokesperson.com said earlier this week that when moving a child from a cot to a bed, the bedding should be relocated with them to provide a sense of familiarity.
