Home decor 'must reflect shift to autumn'
Published: 23 September 2010
As the autumn arrives, now is a good time to reassess decor in the bedroom.
People need to ensure their home decor is reflective of the changing seasons, which may involve investing in some new bedding. This is according to interior designer Mallory Mathison, who told rocnow.com that choosing different colours is a great way to inject new life into the bedroom.
She explained: "Look to what's happening in fashion at this time of year.
"You're layering your house in the same way to feel cosy … pulling out a cable-knit cashmere throw the same way you'll pull out your sweaters."
Some of the most obvious items to invest in are new bedding and bath linen, Ms Mathison highlighted, not least because they are so simple and inexpensive to buy.
The Daily Mail recently recommended that people dig out their winter bed linen, especially as forecasters believe temperatures will fall across the UK this weekend, especially in the Scottish Highlands.
