'Put down the paintbrush and plan'
02 July 2008
As many budding designers emerge from the woodwork after watching too many makeover TV programmes, one website has advised caution before wielding a paintbrush.
PinkNews.com has advised while the design professionals make it all look easy, getting down to creating a stylish bedroom is harder than most think.
The sheer choice of items out there can be overwhelming for the inexperienced designer, with the website saying: "While choice is always good, too much choice can make it difficult to get things right first time".
Assessing the space and what it is actually used for is the first port of call for those wanting design success.
Using the right amount of furniture for the room size and planning this beforehand is essential. Boring layouts should also be ditched to give the sleeping space some pizzazz.
A budget is also a must-have, whether you are living a champagne or lemonade lifestyle, limits must be kept to.
It was previously reported by the Mirror that a mixture of plain and patterned bedding can help people brighten up their sleeping spaces without too much effort, while beautiful" bed throws and detailed cushions help develop a "sumptuous boudoir look".
