Plain dyed bedlinens for a new bedroom look

More Britons are adopting a make do and mend mentality, according to one sector commentator, so digging out forgotten items and purchasing simple plain dyed bedlinens could give a bedroom a new lease of life.
By digging out a can of paint, some discarded fabric, a mirror or an old set of drawers, homeowners could find that they are putting their forgotten treasures to good use by giving their bedrooms a makeover.
And a final treat for the space could be to purchase some plain dyed bedlinens to match the new look in an Egyptian cotton blend, which could be perfect for getting a cool night's sleep as the weather heats up.
Make do and mend
More and more people are adopting a make do and mend - rather than a chuck it out - mentality amid the credit crunch, Jason Orme, editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, has stated.
"That is no more evident than in the home and definitely people are looking to improve their homes and looking to spend a bit of time themselves doing it," he added.
And Britons could find that they can create a truly unique bedroom by getting creative and making a feature of some of the furniture they had forgotten.
An old mirror could be brought back to life by giving the frame a fresh lick of paint or a varnish, while drawers and wardrobes could be transformed by replacing the handles with a variety of handles or knobs people may come across discarded around their own homes.
Finish the space with the bed
In an article for Channel 4 Homes, Andrea Dean suggested that bedrooms should be kept simple and that character could be added with new bedlinen and fabrics.
With this in mind, consumers may wish to finish their new bedroom look by kitting out their bed in new duvet sets with matching plain dyed bedlinen, or by purchasing a new bed throw.
At elinens, all the plain dyed bedlinen is available in a selection of either polycotton, Percale Cotton, Egyptian cotton or Egyptian Cotton Blend.
And while it may be the newly restored furniture that catches friends' and family members' eyes, it is likely to be the new bedding that makes them green with envy.
